A couple months ago I braved 20 degree weather for an adorable family session here in Zionsville, Indiana. It was 20 degrees and the wind was blowing like crazy, which made it feel like it was negative 20 degrees. A huge shout out to the Smith family for braving the cold and not complaining about it while we were shooting and they even smiled! It’s crazy to me how quickly the weather changes here in Indiana, one day it can be sunny and 40 degrees and the next day, 5 degrees and cloudy with a chance of freezing rain. Nonetheless, we all braved the weather and the reward was these sweet family pictures. We ended their session back at their home for a lifestyle session and the boys put on their Christmas jammies.
I think I’ve mentioned lifestyle sessions before, they really are a great way to stay out of the weather and capture some of the most genuine smiles from your kiddos. Children are naturally most comfortable at home. When I’m invited into your home, it gives your kiddos the chance to share a few of their favorite things with me. Whether it’s their favorite toy, favorite lovey, or favorite room. It helps me connect with them before they get in front of the camera. I love shooting lifestyle sessions, if you’re interested in one please let me know! Until then, here’s some of my favorite images from this session:
