One of the reasons I started shooting weddings was because, obviously, I enjoy all the little details of a wedding. The flowers, the bridesmaids, the hopeful anticipation of living life along side the one you love and Grandma dressed her best giving you advice before you walk down the isle. As I’ve grown older and now have quite a few weddings under my belt, often a wedding will come along that just makes me joyful. The bride is joyful, the groom is joyful, the bridal party is joyful. I say joyful because (most) weddings have happy people in them- but there’s a difference between joyful and happy. Joyful people know- tomorrow may be difficult but the sun will set on tomorrow and bring along another day. Joyful people know- my flowers aren’t perfect, but I’m not going to let it ruin my day. Joyful people- like Joseph and Amber- know that this wedding of theirs, is simply a day of honoring the Lord in their vows to one another and having a great time with family and friends while doing it.
This wedding! There was so much joy and laughter during this day, it’s not one that I will soon forget. Here are a few of my favorite photographs from Joseph and Amber’s wedding, held at 412 San Jacinto.
