Last month I had the pleasure of venturing up the hill to Idyllwild, to photograph the most adorable family. I had a specific location in mind, but I’ll be honest and admit that I’m horrible with directions. Please don’t ever ask me what direction Big Bear is or which direction San Diego is, because I honestly couldn’t tell you (well, I could I’d just have to really concentrate and think about it). I COULD tell you that I need to make a left onto the 10 freeway to get to Big Bear, or that I have to make a left onto the 215 freeway to get to San Diego. But, north, south, east, west….I’m lost, just ask my husband. On second thought, don’t ask him because he gets really annoyed when I have to call him to clarify that I’m traveling in the right direction. Before Siri, I was the girl who called every time to make sure I took the 10 EAST to get home when coming from Big Bear.
Enough about my sense of direction, or my lack of sense of direction. My intention was to talk about the really cool location I had in mind, but when I got to Idyllwild I couldn’t remember exactly how to get there. So we made a few u-turns and I remembered another spot. And, as circumstance would have it I was even more excited about location B. This time of year in Idyllwild is my favorite, it’s cool and the mountain air is crisp and clean. Enter in, the DeRoche family, they are the sweetest couple with the most adorable babies. Here are some of my favorites from their session-
I love the sweetness here, boys sure do love their Momma’s don’t they?
And even after the babies come along, I like to grab Dad and Mom for a few minutes while the babies explore. Because really- here’s where it all started.
I’m pretty sure I gasped when we happened to walk up a little hill and see this rock and valley with allllllll that LIGHT. I mean seriously…
Thank you DeRoche’s for trusting me to find a location 😉 and for being so very adorable and sweet the entire time. I hope you enjoy these images for years to come!
